There are no other components except for this particular 3D model, which shot up a mile- high on the blue-axis to set the Z-coordinates spatial referencing. Those same models seem to have the same problem no matter the file type (3ds, obj, fbx, dae) and since they look correct in those formats I can only assume it's an issue with IWs 2014. I’m really confused, please let me know if you have a ideas. The face is 'shaded with textures' at 'medium' resolution (5-quality in Photoshop when saving-as the JPG-format.) The Sketchup file has purged any unused elements. I have some 3d models that when I import them into the Style Palette they lose the texture and color which is shown in the original file. I don’t get why it can’t run the model smoothly? Does it need a better graphics card? How much better does it need? Is Sketchup not built for this? Is there a bottleneck of optimization when files get this large? What in the model could make it slowed down this much? But then if I have a good graphics card why would that matter? If it’s images, or textures, even if it’s 5 time s the size of the file all of that can be stored and ready to run in the 12 GB of RAM in the graphics card. Look online for options to allow the program to utilize all of the graphics card but there is no setting like that. The object looks very good, but in this way, loses all of the materials, and it takes even more time to apply all the textures I want. Choose the KML layer as input file and choose an output location and name. Click in the Analysis tab on Tools and search for the tool: KML to layer. Download a SketchUp model from for example the 3D warehouse as a KMZ file. to see the textures libraries that ship with SketchUp its the drop-down list. One of the most effective ways I found was to convert to morph, export to 3Ds, import in a software named Blender, decrease the polygons in this software, export to 3Ds and import again in Archicad. I would suggest using the Import 3D Files tool to import each collada (.dae) model into a separate multipatch feature. It definitely using the graphics card and the driver is up-to-date. I’m running a big Sketchup file 170MB when I pivot my view it takes some time to react or when I click on a object it can take a second to register why? It doesn’t look like it’s taking much resources like 3 GB of RAM and little on the graphics card (some spikes here and there). I have Sketchup Pro on a 12 Core Xeon, with a RTX Quadro A2000s (12GB), 64 GB of RAM, and a SSD.
